On 4/10/2020 John Swindle with CHASE ROOF INSPECTIONS signed a contract, as did the home owner to do a new roof replacement that was an insurance claim from a storm. The contract included for rotten decking to be replaced. First $50 cost of wood included in the estimate. Any amount over that would be an additional cost which was fine with the home owner because the home owner already knew there were rotten decking around the fireplace chimney that needed replacing before installing the new roof. Home owner also informed John Swindle with CHASE on 4/10/2020 that it was in fact rotten boards around the chimney that needed replacing. When you have been in the attic as many times as the owner had prior to April the 10th, owner knew that was a priority.
On 4/17/2020 John Swindle roofing crew shows up around 7:00 AM and started to tearing the old shingles off of the roof. Home owner was awakened shortly afterward from the noise on the roof. They didn't even ring the doorbell to let anyone know that they were out there or had arrived, according to the security cameras. When owner went outside, they had removed quite amount of the shingles and the owner was very concern because there was a flood in the forecast for the day. It wasn't long before they had completely removed all of the roof shingles. And no replacement shingles had arrived. The delivery truck finally shows up. Owner went inside to make a cup of coffee and have a little breakfast. Came back outside later to find out that the new shingles was not the right color. The original color gray that the owner had just stated to John Swindle on 4/10/2020 as the color he wanted to be put back on the house, but delivered was a charcoal black that later was found out by owner to be discontinue shingles for as long as a year before CHASE ROOF INSPECTIONS installed them, according to manufacturer, GAF, Home Depot and Lowe's
However, we have not been able to understand why Mr. Swindler would get black shingles to install on a owner home rather than what the owner requested. And Mr. Swindle have not even given an explanation why he did so either that sound true. But seeing how the shingles were discontinue shingles, one conclusion you can draw is that he got them at a very cheap price. On the other hand, the owner remembers the first day he met Mr. Swindle on 4/10/2020. Mr. Swindle had come by to give an estimate of a new roof. Swindle was parked in the driveway and the owner came out of his home side door into the carport area and Mr. Swindle gave him a very strange look. The kind of look that black people recognize coming from someone such as Mr. Swindle which happen to be White. It's a look that you never forget as a black person whenever you see it. You can't help but wonder when you end up with a black roof that have lot of poor installment issues, such as leaking every time it rains and other issues and John Swindle really shows no remorse.

How the whole situation came to being uncovered, on 6/13/2020 the homeowner hired a tree company to remove the large oak tree in the back yard. And in the process of them removing the tree a very small, rotted limb was dropped on the roof on the right side of the house. The owner went into the attic to see if any damage to the decking happens. A busted decking board were notice but not really where the limb fell. So, the owner called Chase about the situation because Chase had just put the new roof on. The next week one of the guys that was part of the crew that put the new roof on, show up to repair the busted board. However, on 6/22/2020 homeowner go back into the attic to check out how the repair look from the attic inside. And that is when he thought to go by the chimney and look up around the chimney and got the biggest surprise. Only one little, short piece of board on one side had been replaced, as you can see in the photos above. For almost two-month homeowner thought Chase had properly repaired all the rotten and damage decking around the chimney and other places, but nothing was replaced.
CHASE ROOF INSPECTIONS WERE WARNED BEFORE THIS PAGE WAS PUBLISH IN ADVANCE AND DID NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEMS
We have notice that CHASE ROOF INSPECTIONS have went into a cover up mode with all types of false advertisement, misleading advertisement. One About page states that they use the highest quality of flashing . We would truly like to know where was it at when you did this senior citizen home on 4/17/2020. Not even a low quality flashing of chimney was use and his insurance paid you money to do it. However a roofer can't flash a chimney if it has rotten decking around the chimney. They were given the opportunity on two occasions to come and stop the leaking. Now we are in the process of getting someone else to repair the home. It rained today again in Memphis, TN. and every time this is what happens in the attic on the photo below.
This photo was taken today while it was raining. If you notice the top and second brick is wet and I'm sure anybody know what wet wood look like.
